Mary Hogan Obituary

MARY HOGAN Mary Jean T. Hogan, 67, of Las Vegas, passed away Dec. 18, 2009. She was born July 25, 1942, in Seattle, and was a 62-year resident of Nevada. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a proud graduate of Rancho High School in 1961. She went on to meet her husband while cruising Fremont Street with her sister, Dotti. After marriage, she raised her sons and returned to work at Washington Alternative School. Mary devotedly taught and helped kids for nearly 30 years in the same classroom that she attended as a child. She enjoyed walking with family and friends, especially while shopping. She and Bill belonged to the local Studebaker club and enjoyed all car shows. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren, Jeron and Cameron, and her grandniece and grandnephew, Presley and Colton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Irene Britz. Mary is survived by her husband, of 44 years, Bill Hogan; sons, Michael (Lisa) and Kenny (Lisa) Hogan; sister, Dotti Evans; brother, Larry Britz; and grandchildren, Jeron and Cameron Hogan. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. To The Hogan Family:

Mary was truly a shining star to all who came in contact with her. I know she has touched the lives of the many teachers she has worked with over the years, in particularly her beloved students. I will miss her sweet soul forever. I will miss her ever so present sweet smile, effervescent personality, her gift for always giving and caring, her constant "show of support," and most importantly her daily display of exuberance which she had for her "family," whom she loved so much. Mary, I will miss you, and hope we will someday meet again in heaven.
Love,
Your C.F.E. (Colleague Forever)

To the Hogan Family,

I was so saddened to hear of Mary's passing. I worked with Mary 28 years ago at Washington Opportunity School. Mary was instrumental in helping me in my first teaching assignment out of college. Mary was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I do know that she loved her family dearly. May God comfort each of you during this difficult time.
