MICHAEL WYSOCKI Obituary

MICHAEL WYSOCKI Michael Richard Wysocki, 66, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 26, 2014, of injuries from a fall. Mike was born March 11, 1948, in Las vegas. Mike graduated from Western High School in 1966. He then served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps., and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Mike joined the old Clark County Sheriff's Office just prior to consolidation, and served several years with the Metropolitan Police before leaving to pursue a career in private investigations. During his career, Mike was involved in numerous high profile cases, including investigations that took him to many foreign countries. This also led to his other passion of treasure hunting. Mike participated in several treasure hunting expeditions in Mexico and the Philippines. Mike is survived by his siblings, Ruth Fallon (Jim) of Winter Park, Fla., Tom (Ruth) of Temecula, Calif., and Sharon Davidson, Dale (Susan) and Jean (Carol), all of Las Vegas. Mike will be reunited with his dad, "Mickey," a veteran of World War II, and mom, Nellie, at 12:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.

To the Wysocki Family, I am so very sad to learn of Mike's passing, in particular at the hands of another. I just learned of this news tonight (2/7/15). Mike and and I were the best of friends and we saved each other more than once. Sadly, we lost touch with each other over the ten years, mainly because my career path took me away from Nevada. I never forgot my friend, nor did much time go by without thoughts of Mike running through my mind. Mike was always a great guy, with a zeal for life and the people he worked with and served be it as LEO or in his private work. Regardless if someone was a cash client or a court appointment, Mike would give every case his all, and there are many people out there who owe their freedom to Mike's work and professionalism. Mike you will be very missed by those that had the pleasure of having you in their lives. Take care my brother. Lou

To my long lost Wysocki cousins, we were so sad to hear of Mike's death. Such a sad loss, my heart goes out to you all. When you would visit Iowa, I always thought he was such a good looking and cool cousin! That was probably 50 years ago and it doesn't sound like he hadn't changed! John Longnecker notified us of Mike's passing. I am sorry that we have lost touch over the years. Your parents were my always my favorites on my Dad's side of the family. We were just located so far apart we never saw one another that often. I would love to hear from any of you. One of your Iowa cousins, Marlene Longnecker Peak

I met Mike at Western and remained friends with him over the years. We both worked out at 24HR Fitness and would catch up with each other when we met. He was a proud Western Warrior and will be missed by all that knew him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mike's family--what an amazing, exuberant, sweet, kind and incredible man! I met Mike when he was working for Metro and then would run in to him from time to time once he went into private practice--and everytime just seeing him would make me smile. The world is a darker place without his light. His life was like a true crime detective novel--and even when things weren't going his way, he always cared more about others than himself. Maybe that is the thing I will remember most about him. So very sorry for your loss, and ours.

I am sad to hear of Michael's passing. He saved my life in more ways than one and he never wanted anything in return. I'm not sure he knew the impact he had on my life. That's the kind of guy he was. I think of him often-especially in my quiet time. I'm know I'll remember him for the rest of my life.

I was shocked to hear of Michael's passing. I got to know Michael well as a friend and partner as an investigator at the FPD office, Las Vegas, NV. Michael and I shared a lot in common, our birthdays, his on 3/11 and mine on 3/10, going to Wednesday night mens church service at ICLV. He loved to worship the Lord. Michael had a passionate and loving heart. He had such a great sense of humor and a lot of fun to travel with.
He truly had a passion for defense investigations.
I will always remember the times we worked, laughed and worshiped together. I have peace knowing that his spirit was ushered into the presence of the Lord.
