PHILLIP SEWELL Phillip Ray Sewell, age, 73, of Henderson, passed away April 15, 2017. He was born Sept. 19, 1943, in Norfolk, Va., to Raymond and Annie Parrish Sewell. He served his country in the U.S. Army for over 20 years. He married Peggy Fairchild Jan. 4, 1969. Phillip loved to play golf and was a member of both a men's league and a mixed league in Boulder City. He also enjoyed traveling. He and Peggy moved to the Las Vegas area after he retired from the Army in 1986. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Sewell; and brother, Jerry Sewell. Phillip is survived by his children, James (Jeannette) Fairchild and Candice (Russell) Meiries; his five grandchildren, Russell, Maverick, Kendall, Chris and Jason; companion, Genny Lowther; and brother, Alvah Gwaltney. Memorial service will be at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, in Boulder City.
