Raymond Cannon Obituary

RAYMOND CANNON Raymond L. Cannon passed away Feb. 12, 2008, at the age of 80. He was born Jan, 27, 1928, in Blanchard, Okla., to Alice and John Cannon, and was a Las Vegas resident for 45 years. Ray was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Navy and became a police officer in Pueblo, Colo. He later joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, from where he retired in 1982, after 20 years of service to his community. Ray participated in the bicycle rodeo elementary school program sponsored by the LVMPD and worked with the school crossing guards to ensure that children arrived safely at school. Ray is survived by his wife, Shera Cannon; his children, Bill Cannon and wife, Dale Cannon and wife, Dean Cannon, Bob Hall, Joe Hall and Patti Harwood; 12 grandchildren; his siblings, Grace Mauro, Jewel Crocker, Jackie Andersen and Alan Cannon; and many nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be at 11:20 a.m. Friday, March 7, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
