SAMUEL SCALETTA JR. Samuel Scaletta Jr. passed away peacefully August 13, 2018, at the age of 77, surrounded by his immediate family, at home. Sam was born August 24, 1940, in Niagara Falls, New York, one of four sons, Frank, Larry, Sam and Paul, to Samuel and Rose Scaletta. Sam was a devoted family man and married to the love of his life, Shannon, for 54 years. He is survived by his wife, Shannon; sons, Tony (Debi) and Dean (Andrea); and four granddaughters, Halie, Sofia, Alessandra and Briana). Sam was an avid golfer and tennis player and worked as a commercial real estate broker with MDL Group in Las Vegas. After graduating from Niagara Falls High, he served four years in the U.S. Navy, where he learned his photography trade. Sam's last duty assignment was in Hawaii, where he met Shannon. Shortly after his honarable discharge, the two married in Vancouver, British Columbia, Shannon's hometown, and returned to reside in Niagara Falls, New York, where Sam embarked on his initial career as a professional photographer. He specialized in wedding photography, earning a Masters of Photography degree from Rochester Institute of Technology for his professional accomplishments. He also served for many years as a hockey coach in the Niagara Falls youth hockey programs. In 1985, he relocated with his family to Las Vegas, where he entered the field of commercial real estate and continued to work until his passing. Sam will be missed by many. Service and celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 25, at Wildhorse Golf Club Ballroom, 2100 W. Warm Springs Road, Henderson, NV 89014.
