I can't believe you are gone and that it took me two years to find out. Steve, you were a great guy, you did so much for me. I don't think you ever really knew.

You were my only father figure. You taught me a lot while growing up, made sure I didn't quit and toughened me up. You spent money on me when you didn't have to. You took me places my family couldn't afford to. You taught me about being healthier (even though I was nowhere close to you). You inspired me to lift weights and surpass people years older than me (who also took supplements) while in football. You taught me a lot about sports and helped me improve at basketball. You pushed the importance of education. You removed us from the Big Brothers Big Sisters program because you wanted to do more than what their policy would allow.

I feel bad that we lost contact, and that I hadn't seen or talked to you in years. We spent almost every Sunday together for roughly 8 years, even though you just got off work and would normally sleep... you sacrificed a lot of your personal and relaxation time to give me a shot at a better life, and you helped me achieve it.

I'll never forget how to give the approval or denial on whether we should watch a specific movie. You dancing and rapping (and missing half the words) in your car. Protein shakes. Turkey with mustard. Burrito dos manos, chicken, black beans, no cheese and avocado slices. You ripping the Rams. Watching poker (that was torture). You falling asleep on the couch. Your dog, Max. My friends thinking you were a mobster since you were usually dressed up when you picked me up.

I tried calling you to invite you to my college graduation next month when I found out the news. I'm still in a state of shock. I'll never forget everything you did for me and the things you taught me. You left a strong and positive impact in this world. Words can never explain.

Thank you. I miss you. I love you.

Sorry to hear that Steve has left us. We met Steve a few years ago while doing the video for a bodybuilding show up in Reno NV. Have talked to him on the phone many times before but to meet him in person was a great honor. Steve knew so many of the Vegas entertainers and had some great stories to tell me. I will miss you forever

January 19, 2017

I've known Steve since the mid 80's as a friend, competitive bodybuilder and sponsor. This is a terrible loss for the community both in the Casino and Bodybuilding industries. I would see Steve at the Bellagio at times I was there. He was always smiling, laughing and appeared happy. I also would still see him at the gym lifting like the monster he was, that was just Steve being Steve. It is with sincere sad ness that we say farewell to this genuine gentleman. RIP Steve...

Austin
I cannot tell you how sorry I was to hear about your dad. I was shocked and saddened by the news.
I know that no words can take away the pain or ease the loss of your Father. He was a lifelong friend a one of a kind man and his memories will remain forever in my heart.

I will keep you close in my thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks as you are going through your process of grieving.

I met Steve in 1980 as part of a small community of body builders here in Vegas. We spent quite a few years judging physique shows on the same panel. God Bless you and your family.
