William Middleton Obituary

WILLIAM MIDDLETON William Mark Middleton, 56, of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 15, 2011. He was born Nov. 10, 1954, in Phoenix, and was a 44-year resident of Nevada. Bill married Karen, the love of his life and soulmate, in 1974. They shared a beautiful life and home for themselves and their two daughters for many happy years. His daughters, Kristen and Kimberly, were the lights of his life. The addition of a wonderful grandson, Ethan, completed the circle of family for Bill. He considered his family to be his greatest treasure. Always the professional and hard worker, Bill served an apprenticeship in the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 525 as well as serving an apprenticeship in the Elevator Constructors. He worked in construction and service until he was appointed as business agent for the International Elevator Constructor Union, Local 18, where he served for nine years. He then worked for five years in Work Preservation for the Elevator Constructors until his retirement Dec. 1, 2011. Bill loved to travel, fish and to be with his family and friends. Bill loved life, never let the truth stand in the way of a good story. All who loved Bill, knew his handshake was his word and we are all better people because of him. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Middleton; and sister, Jacque LaFleur. Bill is survived by his soulmate and wife, Karen; the lights of his life, daughters, Kristen and Kimberly; his genius grandson, Ethan; his dear mother, Joan; and his sweet sister, Cindy. Services will be private. Donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Association.

Kristen-
I have not seen you since High School, but have often wondered how you are. I remember your dad well. He was never without a smile and a great belly laugh. I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Sweet Karen, Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your beautiful family at this most difficult time in life. We too are sorry for the loss of a wonderful man, a gentleman, a caring person, a kind person, an honest person, a thoughtful person and someone who always put others before himself. Bill was always a great listener and always had a way of making a situation better no matter what, even if it was just to make you laugh. Karen, you could see the love Bill had for you just by the way he looked at you. We loved spending time with the two of you and we will truly miss Bill. We will always be here for you and will always hold the memories of our times spent together close to our hearts. Karen, you will forever be a part of our lives as we move forward, as Bill would want us to do, but we will always have him watching over us and being there is some way. We love you and pray that God will give you strength to get through this difficult time. Love, Robin and Allen

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time, Karen. I will remember his devotion to his family and his talent for getting a smile out of folks. Still using the line he dropped on the little Asian lady a few doors down one nite during one of the Alias Easter parties! He is gone too soon. I am so sorry for your loss.

It has been many years since I had any time with Bill Karen, and the girls, but I will always remeber their honest, gracious company. Bill will be missed for many reasons, especially his quick smile. My prayer is for all of the family and friends because of this loss.

He will be missed by so many. He was one of a kind and always put others before himself. I will miss the baseball trips, fishing trips and waiting for a comment from him that would make you laugh (never a dull moment with Bill). I loved him like a brother and will miss him dearly.

Whenever we think of Bill it always brings a smile to our face. He had such a quick wit & was so fun to be around. We knew we would laugh til we cried. I'm sure he's already got them laughing in the "great beyond". We will miss you!
