George John Severin

Severin, George John Ann Arbor, Michigan. Age 91, died Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Hillside Terrace, Ann Arbor. He was born January 22, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of George & Ethel Severin. George was a WWII veteran, serving in the Navy. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. On November 9, 1951 he married Rhea Hayes in Detroit, Michigan, and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2006. Survivors include a son, John (Mary Lou) Severin of Gregory, MI; a daughter, Jane (Paul) Severin-Dirkse of Northville, MI; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Adams. A private service will be held at a later date. George donated his body to the University of Michigan medical school and will later be interred at White Chapel, Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
