When remembering Bob Holden words like integrity, caring, authentic, dependable, and happy come immediately to mind. I recall the laugh that erupted from deep inside, and the insights he offered as a teacher, a coach, and an Athletic Director. Bob was respected by students, colleagues, and parents as well - and he earned that respect by what he did, what he said, and who he was. A truly good man has moved on, and the hole he leaves for his family, friends, colleagues, former students and athletes looms large. But Bob lives on in the students he touched and the family and friends who loved him. We honor Bob by striving to be a little more like him, and by letting his legacy live on in each one of us. Peace, Bob, and thank you.

Dear Mr. H,
I hope they have Email in Heaven...I need to say "Thank You!" Thank you for your patience and kindness. Thank you for the wisdom and guidance that you shared so selflessly on and off the field, with your students and athletes. You may never really know all the lives you touched, and helped shape through your many years of teaching and coaching. I sincerely believe that I am a better person for having known you. We need more teachers and mentors like you. We need more kind souls in the world like you. "Thank You" Mr. H for everything kind sir! May you rest in eternal peace. God Bless you always... My heartfelt sympathy and kind regards to the Holden family.
Very truly yours,
Class of (75)

Saw coach Holden less than a year ago at a local McDonalds after not seeing him for decades. My last words as I left were that I loved him. He shared the same. He was my coach and teacher at Center Line High School and even though Im sure I disappointed him on many occasions on the court, the field, and in the classroom, we developed a bond that I still carry. He left a wonderful family behind and we will all miss him.
