Shirley Fay Obituary

In loving memory of our mother Shirley Ann Kope Fay (born October 18, 1936, died June 7, 2022). Shirley was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of David Kope and Evelyn Baker. She graduated from John Harris High School in 1954. After marrying her husband on March 2, 1954, she lived briefly at Fort Eustis before settling down with her family in Clinton Township, MI. In addition to raising her children, she was active as a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer at St. Thecla Catholic School, and managed her family's many vacations. Shirley and her husband Robert traveled throughout the US and spent their retirement years between their homes in Michigan and Texas. They enjoyed dancing, making new friends and learning about the many places they visited. Shirley is survived by her children Robert, Jr. (Kathryn Hogan), Deborah Jo Standish (William), Anna Mary Tallon (Tom) and Kathryn Rose Pary (James); 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held in Holly, MI on August 12, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at the Great Lakes National Cemetery.

Jerry and I have such fond memories of dancing with Shirley and Bob back in the 80's n 90's...I am proud of have made many of her beautiful square dance outfits over the years... she was one of my fav friends... when we visited their home back in the 90's, she took us to the Ford museum and other places and so explained so many of the details we would have missed out on.
