Aileen Willingham Obituary

Aileen West Willingham -MACON - Aileen West Willingham, 98, died Monday, November 20, 2006. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Dr. Marcus Tripp will be officiating. The family will greet friends Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Hart's Mortuary. The family may be contacted at the residence of Mrs. Burt, 2765 Pinewood Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Historic Macon, P.O. Box 13358, Macon, GA 31208 or to the donor's choice of charity. -Mrs. Willingham was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church. She past president of the Junior League of Macon and the Lanier High School Auxilary. She was a member of the Vineville Garden Club and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was the secretary of the Red Cross and secretary and board member of the YWCA. Mrs. Willingham attended Greensboro College and Wesleyan College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Ross Willingham, Jr. and son, Alfred Ross Willingham, III. She was the daughter of the late Alonzo Mitchell West and Clara Thompson West. -Mrs. Willingham is survived by two grandsons and grand-daughters-in-law, Timothy Ross and Ann Willingham of Marietta, and John Franklin and Margaret Willingham of Decatur; five great grandchildren, Melissa Ann Willingham, Lawton Ross Willingham, and Benjamin Gage Willingham, all of Marietta, Olivia West Willingham and William Stokes Willingham, both of Decatur; and former daughter-in-law, Mary Amerson Burt of Macon. -Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
