Amanda L. Bright Nelms -GLENWOOD - Mrs. Amanda L. Bright Nelms, age 93, died Friday afternoon, June 6, in the St. Joseph Hospital of Savannah after a brief illness. -Mrs. Nelms was a native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County and had been a guest at the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia for the past six months. She was a homemaker and a member of the Stuckey Baptist Church near Glenwood. Mrs. Nelms was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, H.D. Nelms, in 1996. -Mrs. Nelms is survived by three daughters, Glenda Waldrep of Ailey, Joan Beacham of Charleston, South Carolina, and Peggy Braddy of High Springs, Florida; three sons, Hugh Adrian Nelms of Vidalia, Ricky Nelms of Ailey, and Charles Nelms of Glenwood; one sister, Jewell Gillis of Glenwood; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild also survive. -Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda L. Bright Nelms will be conducted Monday morning, June 9, at 11A.M. from the Stuckey Baptist Church with the Pastor, Rev. Randall Gibbs and Rev. David Knight officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will assemble at the family residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. -Ronnie L.
