Annie Ruth Powell -GLENWOOD - Mrs. Annie Ruth Powell, age 72, of Route 1, Glenwood, Georgia, died early Sunday morning, March 19, 2006 at the Wheeler County Hospital after an extended illness. -A native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County, Mrs. Powell was a homemaker, participated in Open Doors for the Handicapped in Glenwood and was a member of the Stuckey Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Elton. -Mrs. Powell is survived by the father of her children, H. C. Powell of Jacksonville, Florida; three daughters and their husbands, Janet and Kenny Bryant of Lyons, Sharon and Howard Griffin of Glenwood, Linda and Steve Gantjos of Jacksonville, Florida; one son and his wife, James Edward and Tinnie Powell of Glenwood; four sisters, Geneva Graham, Patsy Adams and Hazel Nelms, all of Glenwood and Shirley Hilliard of Eastman; three brothers, Thomas and Donnie "Bud" Adams of Glenwood, and Willie A. "Jack" Adams of Brunswick; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. -Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Ruth Powell will be conducted Tuesday, March 21 at 2P.M. from the Stuckey Baptist Church with Rev. W. R. Connell and Rev. Randall Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Stuckey Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.
