Anthony Freeman Obituary
November 15, 1958 - January 2, 2020
Forsyth, Georgia - Anthony "Tony" Wayne Freeman, 62, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 2, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Trey Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
panfoundation.org; Amedisys Hospice Services (Warner Robins); or High Point Church (Macon).
Tony was born in Macon, Georgia and was preceded in death by his brother, Sydney Brown Freeman, Jr. He was a member of High Point Church and was part of the Frontlines Men's Ministry and the Deaf Group. Tony had monthly luncheons with his friends who were also deaf. He was also an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Tony was a plumber for 25 years and the first deaf plumber to receive a Master Plumbing License in the state of Georgia. He also drove 18-wheelers for five years across the entire continental US. Tony was a devout family man who never missed a family gathering, sporting or church event. He brought laughter and love to everyone with his jokes and goofy spirit; he wanted people to be happy. He was a responsible person who always kept his word; he made sure to model this to his family and friends. Tony was affectionately known as "Big Money PawPaw" to his grandchildren, but would always reply "No, no, I'm flat broke man."
He is survived by his parents, Sydney B. Freeman, Sr. and Natholyn "Nan" Freeman; daughter, Jennifer (Rick) Dews of Macon; son, Matthew Freeman of Forsyth; grandchildren, Haley Nicole Jenkins, "AJ" Richard Andrew Jenkins, III, and Ariella Grace Dews; brother, Kerry (Sally) Freeman of Rincon; sisters, Janet Freeman Herndon of Bolingbroke, and Trina (Vance) Thrift of Bolingbroke; and several nieces and nephews.
