Fort Valley, GA- Fort Valley- Barbara Jo Walker, 60, died Monday, June 4, 2018. Family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in the Chapel of Rooks Funeral Home in Byron, with Wayne Myers and Kenny Peters officiating. Rev. Chet Cooper will officiate at graveside in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will gather for a meal at Crossroad Bible Church, 243 Marshall Mill Road in Crawford County, immediately following the graveside service.
Born in Hazelhurst, Barbara retired from Bassett Furniture Company after 23 years of employment. She had worked at Sally Beauty Supply in Macon for the past 14 years and was honored as the "Best Worker" the company had ever had.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Leon Walker; brother, Lamar Taylor of Gray; niece and nephews, Molly Taylor, Allen Taylor, and Travis Taylor; and numerous other family members. She is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Martha and James Griffin, and her father and stepmother, Troy and Jean Taylor.
Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.
