Macon , GA- Retired SSgt. Benjamin Evans 90, of Macon, departed this life on January 2, 2020.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Richard Robinson Jr. presiding over services at New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church; 795 Maynard Street Macon GA. with burial at GA Veterans Cemetery in Millegdeville GA.
Mr. Evans was born in Bibb County to the late Clifford Evans and Fannie B. Danielly. He was born on August 5, 1929 and was the eldest of two sons. He was affectionately known as "Ben" to his family, friends and colleagues.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife; Lillie Ruth Gantt Evans, his two daughters; Merita Evans of Macon, GA, and Chandra Evans-Mitchell (Kenneth) of Bowie MD, a stepson; Freeman Lester (Janice), his son-in-love; Gregory Howard of Macon GA, his three grandchildren; Tresca Evans of Macon GA, Marcus Thatcher and Kenneth Mitchell of Bowie, MD, eleven great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law; Hattie Evans of Orangeburg South Carolina, two brothers-in-law; Stokey Jackson Jr. and Willie Stokey Jackson both of Macon, GA.
