Catherine Dickson Wyllys Parks -MACON - Funeral services will be held at 2P.M. Friday, February 13, 2004 at Adel Methodist Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Adel, GA. The Reverend Sam Rogers of Tifton will be officiating. -Catherine Dickson Wyllys Parks, 91, died Sunday, February 08, 2004. -She was the daughter of John Wescott Dickson and Lillian Wainwright Dickson of Adel, Georgia. She attended Georgia State College and graduated cum laude from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. -She was the widow of Robert Henry Wyllys and Austen Owen Parks of Winter Haven, Florida where she was a long time resident and civic leader. She was a founding member of St. John's Methodist Church in Winter Haven and the first woman member of the Administrative Board. She was Regent of the Ponce de Leon chapter of the DAR, a member of the Eastern Star, and a charter member of the Lake Region Yacht and Country Club. She was a summer resident of Blowing Rock, North Carolina. She was a member of the Blowing Rock Country Club, the Hound Ears Country Club and the Blowing Rock Duplicate Bridge Club. She lived in Macon the last several years where she was a member of the Macon Duplicate Bridge Club. -Mrs. Parks was predeceased by her son, Robert Henry Wyllys, Jr. and several brothers and sisters. -Survivors include her two daughters and sons in law, Dr. and Mrs. Toof A. Boone, Jr. of Macon, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Wallace of Savannah; grandchildren include Mr. and Mrs. Ward Council of Marietta, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Austen Wallace of Asheville, NC, Mr. and Mrs. Josh Haley of Macon, and Miss Elizabeth Kate Boone of Macon; great-grandchildren include Robert Austen Council, Catherine Caroline Council, John Hunter Council of Marietta, and Benjamin Gray Wallace of Asheville, NC. -The family will greet friends from 11:00 to 12:00 P.M. on Friday, February 13, 2004 at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home in Adel. -There will be a memorial service in the Bobby Wyllys Prayer Chapel at St. John's Methodist Church in Winter Haven on March 14, 2004 with the Reverend Elizabeth Fogle-Miller officiating. -In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity or to the Austen Parks Memorial Scholarship Fund, St. John's Methodist Church, 1800 Cypress Gardens Boulevard, Winter Haven, FL 33884. -Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
