Charlie E. "Buck" Thompson -PINEHURST - Services for Charlie E. "Buck" Thompson, 76, who died Monday, September 25, 2002 at his residence, will be at 10A.M. Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at Byromville United Methodist Church of Byromville with interment at Roberts Cemetery of Pinehurst. -Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late William Marcus Thompson and Ida Mae JONES Thompson. He was a member of Byromville United Methodist Church of Byromville. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the Pinehurst Masonic Lodge. He was a retired farmer and lived in Dooly County all of his life. -Survivors include his spouse, Betty Thompson of Pinehurst; children, Jean Weeks of Montezuma, Kay Humphries of LaGrange, Jimmy Thomson of Byromville; brother, O.W. Thompson of Byromville; sister, Annie Ruth Peavy of Pinehurst; five grandchildren. -In lieu of flowers, please make memorial to Byromville United Methodist Church, c/o Mary Beth Josey, P.O. Box 98, Byromville, GA 31007 or VistaCare Hospice, Baconsfield Drive, Suite 115, Macon, GA 31211. -The family will receive friends at Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna from 7:00 until 9:00P.M. Tuesday, September 24, 2002. -Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna has charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Betty, we were so sorry to learn of Buck's passing. We cherish the times we visited with you and him. Billy thought alot of Buck. We remembered the last time we saw you all was in WalMart that day in Cordele. And he was being "Buck". Smiling and making others smile. Our prayers are with you and the family.
