Macon, Georgia - Edison Morgan Wynn, 79, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 after a courageous battle from an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00PM in Elim Baptist Church with entombment to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Reverend Johnny Baggett and Reverend Tim Peavy will officiate. The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 1:00PM until service time in the church.
Born in Rockledge, Georgia, Edison was the son of the late Hubert and Ora Lee Bussell Wynn. He moved to Macon at the age of 14 and apprenticed at Snead Sheet Metal for 4 years. He then became foreman at Prince Sheet Metal for 15 years. He retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company as a Sheet Metal Mechanic with 28 years of service.
Edison was an avid outdoorsman who loved landscaping, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He had a love for sports and enjoyed watching Dirt Track and NASCAR racing, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Atlanta Braves. He avidly supported his grandchildren by attending their football, basketball, baseball & softball games as well as their musical concerts, piano recitals, dance recitals, beauty pageants. Edison enjoyed great relationships with his brothers, sisters, children, and grandchildren, and most especially his beloved wife, Daisey.
Edison was a member of the New Elim Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for many years. He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Scott Wynn; brothers; Ervin Wynn, and Herschel Wynn; sister, Priscilla Clements; brother-in-law, Roger Horton.
Hs is survived by his wife of 59 years, Daisey Hester Wynn; children; Gina Wynn Sellers (Clint), Kimberly Wynn Dent (Darryl) and Joshua Wynn (Kristy); siblings; Bonnie Smith (Edwin), Pierce Wynn (Linda), Phyllis Price (Walter), Gail Horton, Ricky Wynn (Robin) and Tommy Wynn (Linda); grandchildren; Kyle Gordon (Destiny), Trevor Sellers, Stephanie Bennett (Kevin), Thomas Brantley, Lierin Brantley, Gage Wynn, Aubree Sellers, Sierra Roquemore (Jon-Clay), Brianna Wynn Rosson (Bradley), Morgan Wynn; great-grandchildren; Baylee Rosson, Colby Bennett, Bohdi Rosson, and Gabriel Bennett.
