Elmer Belcher Obituary
October 25, 1942 - September 11, 2015
Byron, GA- Elmer L. Belcher, 72, died Friday, September 11, 2015.Services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, in the Chapel of Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron with Pastor Vic Anderson and Chaplin Linda Marcola officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 12noon until service time at Rooks Funeral Home.
Born in Scioto County, Ohio, to the late Elmer Roscoe Belcher and Beatrice Irene Adams Belcher, Mr. Belcher was an alumni of Ohio State University and member of Epsilon Pi Tau honor fraternity. He retired from Blue Bird Body Company after 20 years of employment, and then worked at International Navistar for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, carpentry, football, NASCAR, and camping. He loved being with his grandchildren and taught them to fish.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Loretta Belcher; their sons, Robert L. Belcher (Sandra) of Murfreesboro, TN, William J. Belcher (Sherry) of Visalia, CA, and E. Leroy Belcher (Pamela) of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Tiffany Reed, Joseph Lee Belcher, Brian Degitz (Ilayda), Joshua Ryan Belcher, and Angleen Trasmer (Mark); great grandchildren, Grace, Bryce, Thomas-William, Patience, Justice, Annabelle, Courage, and Klyie; brothers, James Owen Belcher (Diane) of Atlanta, and Ralph Wendell Belcher of Tampa, FL; sister, Freeda June Schultz (Doug) of Columbus, Ohio.

LORETTA, SO SORRY TO HEAR OF ELMER'S PASSING. I HAD NOT SEEN YOU ALL IN YEARS. ELMER WAS MY SUPERVISOR FOR MOST OF HIS YEARS AT BLUE BIRD. LEE AND JOSH SPENT LOTS OF TIME AT MY HOME WITH MY GRANDSON, ANTWAN. I AM PRAYING FOR THE ENTIRE BELCHER FAMILY, THAT GOD WILL GRANT YOU STRENGTH, PEACE AND COMFORT.
