With her unconditional love and support, Mama Frances taught me what true friendship really means. She taught me the importance of laughter, of humility, and of loyalty. My life has been greatly blessed because of her example, and I will miss her very much.

So many sterling qualities were emobdied in Frances Floyd, my friend, my mentor. Frances Floyd and I shared many mutual loves - life, our Lord, our church, our families, Mercer, good friendships, good food, good music, good fun. Frances loved unconditionally, was fiercely loyal, was not a complainer, was generous with her money though she had little, was my daughter Carmen's number one cheerleader. She attended Phi Mu meetings, graduations, voice recitals, and Carmen's wedding as a "family" member.

Frances and I enjoyed many good lunches and dinners around Macon. Shrimp and malted milks were favorites of hers.We confided some of life's disappointments and lots of life's joys. Age was no barrier for me or for Carmen with Frances. She was forever young at heart. She lives on in my heart and that of my family, Bob, Bob Trammell, Jr. and Carmen and Jonathan Skaggs.

We just wanted all of you to know how sorry we are to read of Frances's death. Our whole family loved her, as we do all of your family. She meant a great deal to many, many people through the years, with her activities at Mercer and her busy life elsewhere. We remember seeing her walk briskly on Ridge Avenue when we lived on Ingleside. She was always happy and positive about herself and her life. It has been a blessing and a privilege to have known her--and I am glad she watched me and encouraged me as I was growing up.

Know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
