Francisco Gonzales Obituary

Francisco "Cisco" Olivarez Gonzales, 64, of Arlington passed away peacefully at his home on April 19, 2021 in the embrace of his family.

Born in Saginaw, MI in 1957, seventh of twelve children of Francisco and Elisa Gonzales, Francisco moved to Washington state in his late teens. He spent 35 years at the Boeing company, in both AOG and the flight line. He cheerfully worked lots of overtime, volunteering for hard jobs like working in the cramped nose of the plane and teaming up with anyone, no matter how grumpy. He retired in 2014.

He had four children--Francisco, Mia (Keaton), Marisa and Gabriel (Taryn)--of whom he was extremely proud. He tragically lost his loving wife Amelia in 2005. Since retiring, he married Andrea, welcoming adult children--Nav (Heiny), Celene and Stuart. Grandchildren Joy, Soren, Audrey, and Rebekah Hansen, Jun Tombros and Alyssa Gomez will miss his encouragement, his treats, and seeing him dressed up as a dinosaur at Halloween.

A self-taught accordionist, he and his brothers enjoyed bringing a crowd to their feet to dance Tex-Mex. Over the years he welcomed into his home dozens of people for weeks or years. He loaned and gave money, tools, furniture, and time, helping people move, fixing people's bathrooms and refinishing their basements.

Diagnosed with liver cancer in 2019, he continued projects like landscaping the church, building a pantry and raising his living room floor. At a mini family reunion in March and his birthday in April, he enjoyed friends, siblings, nieces and nephews. A service was held at Immaculate Conception in Arlington. He was buried in the City of Arlington cemetery. He will be greatly missed.

A sorely missed dear friend. Many memories of AOG trips and long hours spent in the Boeing factory. A kinder and more generous person you would be hard pressed to find. Huge hugs and prayers to the family. God bless you all. May peace be with you. R I P my friend.

Cisco was dear friend of mine for decades. He is probably the kindest person I ever knew. I always said, he would the you the shirt off his back and if he didn't have one he would buy you one. Such a generous guy. We always ended our conversations with, "Love You Brother". He always called me "Brother Murph". I miss him everyday. He was an Angel on earth and I was proud to be his friend. My condolences to the family.
