I was one of Mr. Espy's students his first semester at Ballard-Hudson High School. My graduating class of 1960 was eagerly anticipating having him (& Mrs Espy)to join us at our reunion this fall. He was a wonderful teacher and mentor to many. We will honor his memory.

To the Espy Family, please accept our condolensces and prayers for the loss of a great and wonderful man. We all loved him. The memories of him live on in our hearts and mind.Although,I didn't take a touchable picture of the two of you(Mrs.Espy).My most memorable visual picture in my mind is of you two walking arm in arm in the Macon Mall sitting down enjoying each other's company.I pray that one day I will have someone to create that beautiful inspiring scene with.Take care and know that you all are loved and yes his physical presence will be missed but his memory will continue to live in us all.Thank you all for sharing him with us.I spent several summers with him as a student through Upward Bound and at Mercer University here in Macon. One question he asked us that I am not sure if I still know the answer to is,"What is the difference between a college and a university?" Can anyone in the family enlighten me? I think I know but I just want to check my answer.lol, smiley face. The world is a better place because of a great man named Mr.George Espy Jr.He was love walking around sharing a part of himself with us all.

Mrs. Espy, you and your family, are in my thoughts and prayers. You and Mr. Espy had a purpose at Ballard-Hudson that you both fulfilled. I learned a lot from both of you. I will always cherish my memories of Mr. Espy, my senior home room teacher. Because of Mr. Espy's love and guidance of Shakespeare's Macbeth, I was able to develop a love for literature by acting out Act I with the Witches scene. I will remember both of you with love and laughter, forever.

Good teachers are like old soldiers. They never die.

Mr. Espy was my teacher and advisor while I was a student at Mercer. Responding to my anxiety about a calculus class, his words were, "You can hold your own in any class."

As we bid farewell to his physical presence, memories of his wisdom and guidance will always be with us. His is a job that was well done and I am grateful for the impact he has had upon the lives of his students, thusly this world.

May the merciful hand of God guide and comfort his family through this transistion.
