What they want to hear......
People say I'm handling it well, coping, adjusting....
But they don't know I go to sleep every night huggin a pillow pretending its you and praying not to wake up to another morning alone.
People want to know how I'm doing making a new life...
going on....
I give a sad smile and say,
"It's rough."
"Thanks for asking"
I'm managing."
Words they want to hear.
People comment how strong and brave I've been
through it all...
your cancer,
your fight for life,
your death.
But they can't understand that my strength and bravery and hopes were buried with you.....
I love u always and forever
-Your one & only wife 4-life Bianca Gibson

To everyone: I Bianca Cheney-Gibson (Greg's wife) personally thank you for the expression of sympathy and condolences including cards, visits, phone calls and most of all your prayers. Greg was a wonder father, son, brother, cousin, nephew, friend and of course husband. Although my heart hurts I know that Greg is with God in Heaven awaiting my stay. I am very honored to have shared 5 great years with him and I will love him forever. Greg is in a much better place than we are, he has no more pain, no more doubts and suffering. As the lonely days and very long nights pass by,I know that Greg is with me forever.
Greg was a very generous man that had such a big heart for others. He will truly be missed by many but we must keep in mind that if we really love Greg as we have expressed, we need to continue or start to pave of paths for greatness in eternal life with Christ. I can't speak for others but I love my husband and I will see him again.
Sincerely,
Bianca Cheney-Gibson

To everyone that has taken the time to send your sympathy and condolences, I Bianca Cheney-Gibson (Greg's wife) thank you so much for all the kind words, cards, phone calls and more than anything your constant prayers. Yes, my heart hurts and it seems as if the pain will never go away but I know that Greg's with God. I love my husband but God loves him more. Therefore, as the days pass by and the long and lonely nights, I will always keep Greg near my heart because besides with God that's where he truly belongs. So to each of you, hold your heads up high and remember that Greg has done something that we all will have to do one day. I love you all and I thank you once again for loving my Greg.
Sincerely,
Mrs.Cheney-Gibson

My deepest condolences to the Gibson Family. Greg and I met in middle school, he was one the most mellow guys I have ever met, always quiet but sometimes sneaking his hand in the cookie jar with the rest of us in class. Bianca, I know it is hard and there is not much that anyone can say to ease the heartache, but you must stay strong and know that you have someone watching over you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Hans Christian Andersen once wrote, “A human life is a story told by God.” Greg’s wonderful life story has been told. Continue his legacy by telling his story. I know one of his proudest moments was the evening of the daughter and father dance at St. Peter Claver. He brought the pictures to the restaurant for me to see and was so happy to share that experience…a proud father.
Remember that healing moves at its own pace. Take it one day at a time because time itself is a healer. I know your heart is aching, and I am truly sorry for your loss. James 1:17 reads, God gives me good and perfect gifts. He has no sickness or disease to give me. Just know that Greg is now in the divine hands of the Lord.

The Lord has call one of His flowers home again. May the Lord give you and your family the strength to over come the lost of your love one. Remember you will see him again. May the Lord bless and keep each of you. Death is a new beginning not the end. Remember Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding.
