Hester Bridges Obituary
Byron, GA- Hester Barber Bridges, 75, died at her home on Friday, November 10, 2017. Born in Moultrie to the late John Tapley "Jack" Barber and Ann Hargraves Barber, Mrs. Bridges had been the office manager at Acoustical Floors in Warner Robins. She loved flowers, working in her yard and being with her family and friends who affectionately called her "Goofball."
Survivors include her son, Charles Richard "Rick" Mercer of Byron, Carla Bridges of Byron, and Lee Bridges (Danielle) United States Navy, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; grandchildren, Sara Rodriguez (Edwin), Austin Mercer, and Hannah Mercer, all of Russellville, Alabama, Chelsea Kopp of Anniston, Alabama, Crystal Murchland (Joel) and Justin Mercer, all of Conyers; six great grandchildren; brother, John Tapley Barber Jr. (Margie) of Davie, Florida; sisters, Cecile Barber Wisham (Bobby) of Conyers, and Peggy Barber Bennett (Kenny) of Moultrie; special caregiver and niece, Connie Ellison of Conyers; and her best friend and pet "Boy." She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Charles Emmett "Charley" Bridges, daughter, Leslie Kopp, and son, Chris Mercer.
A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice. Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.

I am so sorry to learn of this sad news. It has been many years since I have seen Hester, but she has always held a special place in my heart. I will remember her fondly. Her laugh, how smart she was and the the joy she brought to me. Prayers, love and hugs to her beloved family and friends.
