Hubert Hurt "The Tomato Man" -BYRON - Hubert Hurt, 75, died Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Services will be 2P.M. Friday, February 2, 2007 in the Chapel of Rooks Funeral Home in Byron with burial in Byron City Cemetery. Rev. Quinn Hammock will officiate. -Born in Peach County, Mr. Hurt was a produce salesman that sold tomatoes at Smiley's Flea Market and Carrs Store. He is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Annette Faircloth Hurt, his wife, Christine Larkin Hurt and a son, Johnny Hurt. -Survivors include children, Jan Hudgins, Curtis Hurt, Teresa Sangster and Timothy Hurt, all of Macon and Brandi DorŽ of Texas; stepchildren, Ronnie Grant, Jim Grant, Gail Merricks, Penny McElheny and Christine Leberteau; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother Bobby Hurt of Danville. -The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Rooks Funeral Home in Byron. -Family may be contacted at the residence, 400 Old Macon Road, Lot 4, in Byron. -Rooks Funeral Home in Byron has charge of arrangements.
