Ishiuan Hargrove Obituary
December 29, 1973 - March 19, 2016
Lakeland, FL- After a ten-year struggle with breast cancer, Ishiuan Hargrove passed at home surrounded by her family.
Graduating from Mercer University in Macon, GA in 1997 and Emory University in 1999, Ishiuan practiced as a medical physicist in Georgia, New York, and Florida. A tireless advocate for treatment advances in cancer, she devoted her energy by biking to support research, fund-raising, and public awareness of breast cancer. Family admires Ishiuan's drive, resilience, and constant optimism facing her illness. Friends gave her enormous strength.
Ishiuan is survived by her husband Adam and two young sons Wesley and Ethan of Lakeland, FL; grandmother Xiuyu Lin, mother Shuming Pong, brother Sam Ku, father Chiehyi Ku, step-mother Tenny Liang, of Taiwan; sister Karen Ku (Jean-Pierre Pellissier) of South Africa; parents-in-laws Robert and Carolyn Hargrove of Macon, GA; sister-in-law Sarah Hargrove (Erich Day) of Asheville, North Carolina; and relatives worldwide.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 25th, at 2:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lakeland 3140 Troy Ave. Lakeland, FL 33803

To Ishiuan's family and extended family, including her "foster" grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Russell (Mary and Larry), I offer my condolences for your loss of this lovely and accomplished woman. I hope and pray that your memories of her will bring you solace during this time and her example will continue to give all of us inspiration. I am in awe of and thankful for what she accomplished in this lifetime.
