James Warren Edward Burney -MACON - Funeral services for Mr. James Warren Edward Burney will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Greater Turner Tabernacle A.M.E.Church with Rev. Ernest L. Gordon, Senior Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Mr. Burney passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Regency Hospital in Macon, GA. -He was a native of Lineville, AL and a longtime resident of Macon, GA. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Tuskegee Institute, in Tuskegee, AL. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at Warner Robins Air Force Base as a rocket radar repairman. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of WW II, a member of Full Gospel Men, and a Sunday School Superintendent of Greater Turner Tabernacle A.M.E. Church in Macon. -He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Mildred McCall Burney of Macon; daughters Brenda Burney Jones (Ellis) of Charlotte, NC; Caura Burney Smith (Ronnie)of Nashville, TN; and son, James Wesley Burney of Macon, GA, one grandson Christopher Todd Jones and two great-grandchildren Kaiya Monique Jones of Charlotte, NC and Christopher "CJ" Todd Jones of Charlotte, NC. He leaves to mourn a host of loving relatives and friends. -The family may be contacted at 3108 Commodore Drive in Macon. Jones Brothers Mortuary has charge of arrangements. James Burney
