Jimmy Ayers Obituary
Warner Robins, GA- James P. Ayers, "Jimmy," 68, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at a local hospital. A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday at Parkway Assembly of God Church with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Joe Williams and the Rev. Jeff M. Ayers will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Because Jimmy was such an avid coffee drinker, the family asks that you bring your favorite coffee mug to visitation and enjoy a cup of coffee with the family and friends.
Mr. Ayers, son of the late James D. Ayers and Winnie Lee Sullivan Ayers, was born in Kathleen and was a graduate of Georgia College. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and never met a cup of coffee he didn't like. Mr. Ayers loved sports and was an avid Bulldog Fan and Braves Fan. He was retired from Brown and Williamson and was a member of Parkway Assembly of God. Most of all, he loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Survivors include those he loved most, his wife of forty-six years, Nelle E. Ayers of Warner Robins; his sons, Stuart (Joanie) Ayers and Jason (Missie) Ayers, all of Warner Robins and Chan (Miranda) Ayers of Macon; his beloved grandchildren, Taylor, Garrett, Madison, Reagan, Jacob, Mollee and Malia; his sister and brothers, Elaine (George) Harvey, Roney (Gayle) Ayers, Wayne (Debbie) Ayers, Jeff (Marie) Ayers and John (Ann) Youngblood and several nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was a gentle giant of a man who was humble yet lived a life of utmost respect and integrity and walked as a Christian upon this earth. What more could one want? TO THE FAMILY OF JAMES PATRICK AYERS
Dear Aunt Nelle and Family,
The untimely death of Uncle Jimmy was received with both shock and sadness. On behalf of the Tom DuBose Family please accept our personal and sincere condolences. Please know our hearts ache at your loss, but we know that Uncle Jimmy's legacy will always be with us.
It would be tempting to say that Uncle Jimmy inherited the ingredients of his success or that it was something within his bloodlines. But instead it was the sum total of faith, merit, and hard work, and especially, the choices that he alone made for himself that determined the direction his life would take. He always remembered that justice is conscience, not just personal conscience, but the conscience of mankind.
This is the light he cast for those who looked to him for help in their darkest moments. The light that led so many who pursued the American dream and the expectation of justice, the light that now serves as a guiding beacon for those who follow in his wake.
Uncle Jimmy was a devout Christian gentleman and as I reflect back, I remember well that his life bent toward fairness and justice for all and he truly possessed that American quality.
His death serves as a reminder to all of us that a life lived believing, caring, loving your family and helping others is the only life that really matters in the end.
Gone from our eyes, but never forgotten in our hearts. Please know that you and your family are dearly loved.

Jimmy was always there for his family. He gave so much in life and even in death. He has been like a father to my daughter Missie who became his own when she married his son Jason. Every day I have been thankful for him being there for the family. He will be missed.
