John Adams Obituary
October 30, 1930 - May 13, 2022
Macon, Georgia - John Ross Adams, Sr., 91, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville. Rev. John Irwin will officiate. A Visitation/Luncheon will follow at the Adams Camphouse in Hawkinsville. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Wesley Glen Ministries, 4580 N. Mumford Road, Macon 31210 or Boy Scouts of America – Central GA Council, 4335 Confederate Way, Macon, GA 31217.
Mr. Adams was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia the son of the late Caroline Ross and Charlton B. Adams was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn Monaghan Adams and their son, Michael Monaghan Adams. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Adams was retired from The Bibb Company where he was human resources manager. He loved the Boy Scouts of America where he was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award and was a Scout leader for over 60 years. Mr. Adams was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. He was an avid wood worker having made many pieces for family and friends.
Mr. Adams is survived by his children; John Ross Adams, Jr., (Dana) of Forsyth and Charles Shawver Adams (Lynne) of Macon; grandchildren; John Ross Adams, III, Lillian Ross Adams, Caroline Marie Adams, and William Shawver Adams (Hannah).
