Leroy Sherman Wiley -SPARTA - Funeral Services for Mr. Leroy Sherman Wiley, 75 will be conducted at 2:00P.M. Saturday December 17, 2011 at Hancock Central High School Gym with Rev. Robert Knight officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Mark A.M.E. Church cemetery. -Mr. Wiley received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fort Valley State College and a Master's degree from Georgia College and State University in Public Administration. -He served a term in the US Army and later joined the National Guard and retired with 20 years of service. -He was elected as the first black Superior Court Judge in history in 1 970, there he served for 41 years. He also served as EMA Director many years. -Mr. Wiley was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, NAACP Democratic Club, Masonic Lodge and he was active in Civil Rights. -He is survived by his wife: Diane Wiley; children: Nydarnor Wiley, Jessica Wall and Mahandas Williams of Sparta, Ga., Jalian Wiley of Atlanta Ga. and Libriari Stephens of Gokisboro N.C., sisters: Mary Sims and Mamie Wiley of Ohio, Lititon Wiley of California, Nettie Pendleton of Alabama, Elouis Ivey of Georgia and brother: Eddie Wiley of Pennsylvania. -Ingram Brothers Funeral Home Inc. of Sparta.
