Kathleen, Georgia - Little Berry Moody, III, age 68, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, just one day shy of his 69th birthday, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. A Service to Celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church, 1736 Houston Lake Road, Perry, GA 31069. Flowers will be graciously accepted or memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon, GA 31201.
Berry was a long-time resident of Middle Georgia, graduating from Perry High School and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He retired from the City of Perry where he worked as a Natural Gas Foreman for many years. Berry enjoyed fishing, running, and skydiving, but his greatest passion was painting beautiful folk art. He loved to share his artwork with family and friends and would give anyone a painting if they wanted one. He had a beautiful heart and would readily help family, friends, and even strangers if they were in need. Berry's family is grateful that his caring and devoted niece, Beth Smith of Douglas, Georgia, stayed with him and the family throughout this difficult time.
Berry was preceded in death by his parents, Little Berry Moody, Jr., and Pauline Morris Moody.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Berry are his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Lejeune Lewis Moody of Kathleen; his son, Daniel Moody of Deltona, Florida; his daughters; Kimberly Beatty (Greg) of Galveston, Texas, and Bonnie Walker of Orange Beach, Alabama; his sisters; Marianne Weik and Jeanie Bishop, both of Perry; his brother, Morris Moody of Perry; his grandchildren; Robert Meier, Jr. (Taylor) of San Leon, Texas, Janslee Andrews, and Makenzie Andrews, both of Warner Robins; his great-grandchildren, Jordan Meier, Myria Meier, and Harlan Meier; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
