Louis Rozier Obituary
Sparta, Georgia- Louis Harris Rozier age 93 passed away Friday, December 11, 2015. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, at Sparta Cemetery with Rev. Sidney Lambert officiating.
Mr. Rozier was a native and resident of Sparta. He attended North Georgia College and then served in the United States Army during World War II. After the war he attended and graduated from the University of Georgia and the UGA Law School. He was admitted to the Georgia Bar Association in 1949. Mr. Rozier began his career in the law firm of Lewis & Rozier from 1949-1965, then with Lewis, Rozier & Hitchcock from 1965-1975, and with Rozier & Hitchcock from 1976 until his retirement in 2001. He is still a member of the Georgia Bar Association. Mr. Rozier was preceded in death by his parents Edward Alexander Rozier and Elleene Burnett Rozier, brothers, Edward Alexander Rozier III, William Sidney Rozier, Julian Burnett Rozier, John Wiley Rozier, Charles Preston Rozier and a sister Frances Rozier Birdsong. He was a member of the Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church, Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and Sparta VFW.
Mr. Rozier is remembered by his many friends, who benefitted from his wisdom, advice, and kindness. He will be sorely missed.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephew.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sparta Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 396 Sparta, GA 31087.
