Lucy Bivins Obituary
Macon, GA- Funeral services for Lucy Jean Bivins will be 1 PM Monday, October 17, 2016 at Union Baptist Church. Pastor Bo Turner will officiate. Pastor David L. Stanley, Sr. presiding. Interment services will follow in Middle Georgia Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Bivins, 77, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016.
Survivors includes, seven children; four sisters; nineteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and a host of others relatives and friends.
Jones Brothers Mortuary has charge of arrangements.

Sharon and JoJo,
I feel that I know the both of you because your mother talked of you so much. Sharon, I did meet you a long time ago. Jean and I go a good ways back. She and I were coworkers at the Medical Center before it became so large, in fact, it might have been the Macon Hospital. As I sit here, I grieve for her lost, but know with the faith that she had in God she is in a better place. Jean and I not only worked together we both went to Nursing School at what was called Macon Junior College. We Studied together trying to make it through. She was instrumental in my passing Anatomy and Physiology because she knew someone that could tutor us. He was able to break down those difficult concepts in a way that the instructor could not.This was a great help. I too can attest to the fact that she was a great Lady. She was one of the strongest Ladies in her faith and in her will to survive difficult times. As I am sure there are many others that can attest to how she has impacted their lives, I will say that it was a true blessing to have been counted as one of her friends. My prayers and thoughts will be with all of you Sharon, JoJo and Precious, along with the rest of the Family. Hold fast to her teachings and your faith in God, for He will see you through. Cherish the memories.

My deepest condolences...
My heart bleeds with joy, as I reflect back on the first time I met Ms. Bivins. A woman who will never be forgotten. I love her for the love and class that she extended to us in life. Especially how she love me when I was a teenager. I can never forget how she opened her home to me when I needed it the most. She even offered to care for my baby while I finish school. I love you Ms. Jean Bivins!! And thank you so much for all the beauty that you shared with us.
Sharon, God will see you through this journey. You have a lot to be thankful for with your mother. And God gave you sooo many beautiful memories. We thank Him for that. And even though we will miss mama in the physical, know that she will always be the angel that God has chosen to watch over us until we meet again.
I am here for you sista, and we will remember all of the good times and memories of your mom.

Joe, Sharon, Precious and family, thank you for sharing your mother with us, especially me. I'm grateful for her and thankful that I had the opportunity to see her during my last couple of visits. She was a remarkable person who truly lived, moved and had her being in Christ. Although she has passed from sight of our limited finite senses, we know that she lives through the resurrection of Christ Jesus, who proved to us that death has no power, and He has gone before her to prepare her place in the Kingdom of Heaven. She has run the race, fought the good fight, and faithfully reminded us of the Promise, that this existence is all about Love.
