Cochran, GA- Mahlon Smith, age 66, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, in The Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
Mahlon, a lifelong resident of Cochran, was the son of the late Monroe Eugene and Mary Yearty Smith. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base, a US Army Veteran of Vietnam War, having received the Purple Heart and former Bleckley County Sheriff's Deputy. He was a member and deacon of Ruth Baptist Church and the Adult II Sunday School Class.
Survivors are his wife, Bonnie N. Smith of Cochran; children, David Warren and Derek (Casey) Warren of Cochran, David Smith and Kristee (Chris) Pramuk of Eastman; grandchildren, Kayla, Colby, Malorie and Clay Warren, Drake and Daylon Warren, Kaylee Dubberly and Gracee Smith; brother, Gary (Gail) Smith of Cochran; sister, Jean (Ray) Floyd of Cochran; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Memorials may be made to Ruth Baptist Church, 216 Ruth Baptist Church Road, Cochran, GA 31014.
The family is at 216 Honeysuckle Trace and will greet friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Monday at Mathis Funeral Home. www.mathisfh.net
