Macon, Georgia - Mary Julia Borum "Sweet Mama," 98, of Macon, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023. A Graveside Celebration of her Life will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Evergreen Cemetery, with Pastor, Will Johnson officiating.
Sweet Mama was born on October 30, 1924, in White Plains, Georgia, to the late Mr. Ezra Jones and Mrs. Belle Marchman Jones. She was a homemaker that provided a loving, wonderful home for her family. Sweet Mama was a member of St. Andrew Christian Church in Macon. She loved reading her Bible and watching the Atlanta Braves. Throughout all her life she enjoyed dressing up and gambling, if anyone was lucky it was her! Whether it was a scratch off or a bingo card, she was always a winner. Every grandchild endured a Sweet Mama hair-do.
Sweet Mama was preceded in death by her husband of 50 plus years, Charles Osborne Borum; son, Julius Steve Borum; and daughter, Mary Ann Weksler.
Sweet Mama is survived by her grandchildren; Niki Alewine (Jason), Jason Borum, Julie Borum, Daniel Weksler, Hannah Dye(Scott); daughter-in-law, Brenda Borum; great-grandchildren; Gracie Alewine, Hayden Alewine, Memphis Alewine, Aubrey Dye and Charlotte Dye; along with niece, Betty Hines; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
