Mary Nobles Obituary

Mary Nell Hayslip Nobles
February 11, 1937 - March 2, 2022
Americus, Georgia - Mary Nell Hayslip Nobles, 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Mary Nell Hayslip Nobles was born February 11, 1937, in Worth County, Warwick, Georgia. She lived there for about a year and then moved to Crisp County, Georgia, near Cordele. She was there for the early years of her life. Mary Nell attended West Crisp Elementary School, Leslie Jr. High School and East Crisp High School, where she graduated in May of 1956. Her first job was at Gainey's Drug Store in Cordele. On April 1, 1960, her dad, Joseph Augustus Hayslip, passed away. Mary Nell and her mother, Laura Jane Mann Hayslip, moved to Macon, Georgia. In Macon, she went to work at Chi-Chester's Drug Store, then Nu-Way on Cotton Avenue. A few months later, she was hired at the Naval Ordnance Plant, where she met James Willis "Red" Nobles. They married on October 23, 1964. After working at the plant a few years, it closed, and they were transferred to Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins.
On August 10, 1990, her husband, Red, passed away after a long battle with lung cancer. In October - November of 1990, Mary Nell retired with 25 years at Robins Air Force Base, but kept herself busy, helping others, and going to church. It was a blessing to her serving the Lord. It was joy unspeakable and full of glory. Mary Nell accepted the Lord into her life at a young age.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; Frank Hayslip, Ishmael Hayslip and Robert Hayslip. She was also preceded in death by two sisters; Elizabeth "Sister" Cooper and Eddie Ledford. Mary Nell is survived by several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Mary Nell resided at 115 Britt Ave. in Warner Robins for many years, but due to her older sister, Elizabeth's illness and being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, she moved in with her and her daughter, Mary Cooper in 2012. From 2012 to the time of her death, Mary Nell Hayslip Nobles lived in Americus, Georgia. Mary Nell was a member of Harvest Christian Fellowship "The Church of God of Prophecy" in Warner Robins and a joint heir with Christ.
Mary Nell now resides in a mansion on Hallelujah Square, Glory Road, Angel Avenue, whereas I believe you'll find her around the throne praising Jesus.
Mary Nell's family will receive friends on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Mary Nell to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or to Harvest Christian Fellowship, 1211 S. Houston Lake Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
