Maurice B. Wynn, Jr. -MACON - Maurice B. Wynn, Jr., 80, died Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with burial in Riverside Cemetery with Military Honors. The Rev. Creede Hinshaw and Dr. William Hammonds will officiate. -Mr. Wynn, son of the late Morris Byron and Sara McKneely Wynn, was born in Barnesville, Georgia and had lived in Macon most of his life. He was a graduate of Lanier High School and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega. Mr. Wynn was a U. S. Air Force Veteran serving during World War II. He was a former POW and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Wynn was owner of Maurice Wynn Company and was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. -Survivors include his wife, Gloria McAfee Wynn of Macon; his daughter, Katherine Wynn (Roy W., Jr.) Griffis of Macon; his son, Maurice B. "Buddy" (Deborah) Wynn, III of Lawrenceville; his sister, Dorothy Wynn Joiner of Macon; four grandchildren, Katie Griffis, Charlie Griffis, Kelli Wynn and Ashley Wynn. -The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mulberry Street United Methodist Church Building Fund, 719 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201 or to the charity of the donor's choice. -The family may be contacted at the residence. -Visitwww.mem.comto express tributes. -Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
