Chris baby..u know I miss u. U were special 2 me. we spent alot of time together and to know that I won't be awakened anymore mornings by u coming thru to play the Wii and show me some videos of places u've been playing. To know that there won't be anymore calls to say I love you Auntie. I know God doesn't make mistakes but it doesn't make it easier to live with. u made alot of impact on many lives all over the world. I can tell that u were truly loved by many. To The Purcell & Clay Family..... Words Cannot Express My Feelings At This Present Time. I Shedded Tears Only After I Learned That Chris's Homegoing Services Was Only A Few Days Ago. I First Met Chris At Jazz Club In Macon 4 Years Ago. Chris Had A Unique Style On Playing Drums That No One Could Hold A Candle To. If I Had A Nick Name For Chris Right Now It Would Be "Captain Thunder" , Because He Play Loud & Hard That Heaven Would Notice Him. Now That God Has In His Kingdom The Next Time We Hear Thunder Roar Across The Sky We Can All That's That Chris Purcell Up There Playing Drums.

I had the honor of meeting Chris a few years ago through my brother and sister in law. To know Chris was to love him, he had a personality that out shined anyone else. In the few years that I have known Chris I have never known him to have a bad day or attitude and if he did it never showed. I can truly say that I am grateful to have meet and befriended someone like Chris. I am sure many people will say that he will be missed, but never forgotten (exspecially me). What a combination of sheer power, grace, and skill. Chris was thunder and lightning all by himself. The trademark towel was a necessary symbol of his dedication to God and his craft. Endowed with an amazing array of musical ability and intuition, Chris made a huge impression on our world. He will never be forgotten. RIP Chris!

I didn't know Chris personally, but I often saw his wife and him showcase their skills and talent downtown at the JazzPlex. The two looked inseparable and very supportive of one another. (Smile) I respected his musicianship and he will be missed. Macon has lost one of its greats. My condolences to his wife, Marisa, and family.

but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.

There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;

I can remember Chris running around during rehearsals. He kept us all in order though :^). You played such an important role in all of the kids up-bringing with Christ.
