Hawkinsville, Georgia - Mrs. Patricia Helms Cheek, age 78, of Hawkinsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at Broad Street Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Jeff Waters and Rev. Blake Westbrook officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Browndale Cemetery.
Patricia was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia. She was a devoted member of Broad Street Church for 49 years, where she taught Sunday School and Training Union for years. Mrs. Cheek was retired from Robins Air Force Base where she worked as an item management specialist. She loved gardening, cooking, collecting antiques, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bennett (Pauline Little) Helms and by brother-in-law, Roy Cross. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Clarence Franklin Cheek, Sr.; her son, Clarence Franklin "Rence" Cheek, Jr., (Tiffany), of Hawkinsville; her granddaughters; India Margaret Cheek and Clare Frances Cheek; her sisters; Rhunae Helms Cross and Latrelle Helms Bembry (Johnny) of Hawkinsville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tilden Bembry, William Bembry, Jim Broadnax, Emory Trull, Walter Cheek, Shelly Berryhill and Harris Goss. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Campbell, J. D. Hunsicker, Derrick Dykes, Jerry Davis, Duett Parrish, Alvin Goss, Joe Goss, Carl Conner, and Dennis Dunn.
