Dublin, Georgia -
Robert Lee East, Sr., of Dublin passed away on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022. Graveside Services will be held at Dublin Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Jimmy Black officiating.
Mr. East was born in Wrightsville, GA on July 31, 1932, to George W. East, Sr., and Nannie Kennedy East. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. East graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1956 and was the owner of Lovett and East Shell Oil Company and E&S Gas Company. For many years he was an active member of the Elks Club and the Exchange Club of Dublin, serving in various officer's positions.
Survivors include his daughter, Suzanne East Moore (Danny) of Dublin; son, Robert Lee East, Jr., (Jan) of Dublin; granddaughters; Leigh-Ann Tribble (Jack) and Kimberly Price (Casey); grandsons; Rob East (Rachel); Ben East (Madison); and Matt East; great-grandchildren; Will and Kate Tribble; brother, George East, Jr., (Patty) all of Dublin; sister, Polly Altman (Jim) of Woodstock; brothers-in-law; George Burns of Lithonia; Earl Williams of Atlanta; sisters-in-law; Sudie Harris; Sylvia Harris; Frances Harris all of the Atlanta area; Barbara Harris of Fitzgerald; and several nieces and nephews. Rob East, Ben East, Matt East, Jack Tribble, Casey Price, Josh Horne, Glenn Hobbs, and Don Miller will serve as pallbearers.
