Ruby Edge Obituary
Soperton, Georgia- Mrs. Ruby Nell Edge, 82 of Soperton, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012.
Mrs. Edge was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County and was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie W. and Minnie Lee Morris Sweat; and her husband of 56 years John Thurman Edge. She was employed for many years at Sweat's Barbeque and Soperton Manufacturing Company and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, Soperton.
Survivors include her children Dale (Jean) Edge and Scotty (Amanda) Edge, all of Warner Robins, Mitchell (Susy) Edge, Soperton, and Susan (Jack) Tillman, Statesboro; grandchildren, Tonya (Jim) Vanek, Josh (Victoria) Edge, Scott (Carrie) Locke, Marty (Rachel) Edge, Forrest (Carrie) Edge, Brandon (Donna) Holmes, Stacy Turner (Joel Stutz), Cole Edge and Emily Edge; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Sierra, Donovan, Riley, Nolan, Zach, Elizabeth, Susannah, Burton, Jarrod, Jake, Bree, Daisy and Jason; a great-great-grandchild, Josie; a sister, Allene Williams, Statesboro; three brothers, Mercer Sweat, Macon, Jack Sweat, Soperton, and Mike Sweat, East Dublin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 16 in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Zaidee Church Cemetery, Treutlen County.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and may be reached at the home of Mitchell and Susy Edge, 194 Patriot Lane, Soperton.
