Sara Heath Obituary

Sara Emily Heath -ALBANY - The funeral service of Sara Emily Heath, 84, of 2823 Gillionville Road, who died Wednesday, will be conducted Saturday at 10A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. James M. Ramsey will officiate. Interment will follow at 12P.M. at Warwick United Methodist Church Cemetery. -A native of Dooly County, GA Miss Heath grew up in Warwick, GA. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern College in Statesboro and received her Masters Degree from the University of Georgia. Her teaching career began in Rebecca, GA and she then moved to Albany and taught the fourth grade at Flintside Elementary School, then taking a position at Mamie Brosnan Elementary also teaching the fourth grade and later became the Principal there. She later became Principal of Lake Park Elementary in 1973 and retired in 1980. She was with the Dougherty County School System for a total of 35 years. She was a member of Kappa Gamma Sorority, a member of Dorcus Sunday School Class, WMU and a member of the First Baptist Church of Albany for over 50 years. -Survivors include a brother, Fred H. Heath, Brentwood, TN; four nieces, Carol Moore, Albany, Debra Coley, Hawkinsville, Connie Flanders, Augusta and Jan Morrison, Franklin, TN; two nephews, Patrick Heath, Woodstock and Stewart Heath, Franklin, TN. -The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 until 8:30P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. -The family is at the residence of Don and Carol Moore, 3008 Ember Court, Albany, GA. -Mathews Funeral Home 229-485-5657 Albany, Georgia.
