Dear Kate, Marguerite, Bill and Tracy,

I want you to know how very sorry I was to hear the sad news of Tinsley. He was a wonderful friend to so many. My deepest sympathy to all of you during this time.
Although it has been a few years since we (Matthews and Beaty children) all were together, I often reminisce of the marvelous times our families shared growing up in Macon. (Scouts, sports, school, church and social gatherings.) My brothers and I send our love, prayers and comfort to you. We shall miss Tinsley.

With all our love,

March 17, 2009

Dear Marguerite and Family, Red and I want you and your family to know how very sorry we were to hear of Tinsley's death. He was such a great young man. We got to know him really well while working together on the Forest Hill Road project. I just loved his mild and sweet manner, yet, at the same time, he was determined that "right" should prevail. The last time I saw him was at St. Francis church and we talked about family and how I had known Tracey since we started first first grade together.
Please kn ow that you and yours are in our hearts and prayers and that you have our love.
Yours, in Him Who loved us first, Alice and Red

I love that picture of Tinsley that was published in the Telegraph a few years ago - - Tinsley was standing in the middle of Forest Hill Road - making a visual statement that he would help to protect the beauty of our neighborhood from an unnecessary widening of pavement there. He exhibited vision and statesmanship and action. He made all our lives better. Thank-you.

March 14, 2009

Kate, Kathleen and Thomas,

Reading the guestbook, it is clear that your family is so loved. I hope that you are feeling “held up” by all of the hundreds of people who are obviously mourning with you. You are never alone. Being the pillar of strength and integrity that he was, Tinsley has provided you all with an internal compass that will continue to guide you even now. He has already given the children the best parenting gift of all: “roots and wings” by example. They have a community in which they are grounded, and will continue to grow in Tinsley’s example of what it means to be a gentleman who loved his family, his work and his community. God will use all of us to help you put one foot in front of another and take one step at a time. Lean on all of us now who want to help…we are all here for you…Much love, Monica

Weve met several times at Ga Tech sports events. Tinsley was one of the most beloved and popular Phi Delts from Georgia Tech. Over the past two days, the outpouring of affection for Tinsley amongst the fraternity brothers thru email is nothing short of extraordinary. What a great husband & father you were blesed with. I pray that our heavenly father will comfort you and allow you to focus on how Tinsley blessed your lives, and that you will see that he continues to bless you through his legacy and spirit . Tinsley could have never "been" but through the grace of God he was a part of your family and our community. Such a congenial spirit , it is evident that Tinsley brought a positive upbeat presence to everyone he associated with. I hope that Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 will help eliviate some of the angst you are enduring over why such an unfair tradgety occured. We are truly in despair for you, Kate Kathleen & Thomas. We pray for our heavenly father to cradle & comfort you, as will fond memories of Tinsley. Tinsley was so down to earth and pleasant and he made people feel liked and important. He was truly a blessing on earth and will be dearly missed. May God bless and comfort you, Kate, Kathleen, & Thomas. Kathy Tremblay & Alex Taylor.
