Alexis Taylor-Boll Obituary

Alexis Lauren Taylor-Boll

July 7, 1956 - October 29, 2025

Alexis Lauren Taylor-Boll, age 69, passed away from a car accident on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025 in Guntersville, Alabama. She was born on July 7th, 1956 in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan to her parents John Amos Selby and Irene Ann (Miller) Selby. Alexis graduated from Wausau East High School in Wausau, Wisconsin in 1974. She attended Northcentral Technical College in Wausau, the University of Colorado-Boulder, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she achieved a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Music. She met the love of her life, Gary Boll, while they were both out celebrating their birthdays at Mendota Beach Club in Madison, Wisconsin in 1989. Their first date was at the Edelweiss Chalet Country Club in New Glarus, Wisconsin, where she "let" Gary win by 1 stroke. They were united in marriage on December 4th, 1992 at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus, where they were both members. Thereafter, they shared a beautiful 32 years together. Alexis worked for the State of Wisconsin for over 40 years, excelling in various roles, including as an adjudicator and legal assistant. Alexis enjoyed running in the Colorado mountains, skiing, golfing, bowling, playing racquetball, going for walks, gardening, baking, sewing, watching the sunset, playing cards, and spending quality time laughing with friends and family. Alexis is survived by her husband, Gary Herman Boll; daughter, Devon Vanessa Boll; son, Dalton James Boll; brother, Michael (Kendy) Selby; sister-in-law, Gloria (Fred) Bodenmann; nieces, Meghan (Elliott) Belden and Jamie (Chad) Brecklin; nephews, Mark Selby, Ryan Selby, and Jesse (Rebecca) Darrow; and great-nephews Luke and Lance Brecklin. She is further survived by countless other family members and friends whom she considered family; her "fur-baby", Bailey Boots; and her "grand-fur-babies", Riku, Kairi, Momo, and Suki. She was preceded in death by her parents and her "fur-babies": Deja, Crystal, Velvet, and Annabelle. Alexis left behind a note of her favorite quotes: "What goes around, comes around. Everything happens for a reason. Whatever. Life is Good. Bucko! (when I am getting mad!)" A memorial service for friends and family in Alabama will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025 at the Gunter's Landing Golf Course clubhouse located at 1000 Gunter's Landing Road, Guntersville, AL 35976. A celebration of life will be held in New Glarus, Wisconsin in July of 2026 (details to follow). In lieu of flowers, donations are being collected in her honor at https://www.gofundme.com/f/alexis-taylor-boll. Donations will be distributed to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The family would like to thank the staff of the Guntersville Carr Funeral Home and the Gunter's Landing Golf Course for their kind and compassionate assistance.
