Ann Bozdogan Obituary

Ann Willard Bozdogan, 84, of Weston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. She was the devoted wife of Kirkor ("Kirk") Bozdogan. Ann is survived by Kirk; by her three brothers, Mark, David, and Bob Willard; by Bob's wife Jane Hamilton; their son Ben and his wife Erin; and their daughter Hannah, her husband James Yawn, and their children Hazel and Ruth (Ruthie). Ann was born on December 9, 1940 in Madison, Wisconsin where she grew up in a closely-knit family. She graduated from West High School in Madison in 1958, and went on to receive her BS degree in elementary education at the University of Wisconsin in 1962. She played the viola in the University of Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra.

Ann and Kirk were married in 1962. They made their home in Weston, Massachusetts. The center of Ann's professional life was serving as an elementary school teacher in Wayland, Massachusetts. She taught third grade at Claypit Hill Elementary School for forty-one years. She was a highly respected, sought-after, teacher, working as part of a dream team, a collaborative group of incredibly dedicated, purposeful, and caring teachers. Ann, throughout her life, lived the good life, nourished by her deep religion-infused values, a legacy of the Willard family rooted in New England history. Ann welcomed new ideas, read a great deal, kept an independent mind, and thought well of others. She was a positive, kind, thoughtful, and giving person, always with a big smile on her face. This is why she was loved by all who have met her. Condolences may be expressed at BurkeFamilyFuneralHomes.com.

When I was hired by Wayland Schools to teach third grade, Ann was on my team, and she was so very kind to me. I soon learned that she was kind to everyone! Ann was knowledgeable and smart and a excellent teacher, but she never raised her voice or blew her own horn. We stayed fast friends as I had children, went to another school, and life went on. Her goodness never changed nor did our friendship, despite distance and health issues. There was no one like her. I loved her and she will be missed.
