MADISON - Barbara J. "Barb" Graverson, age 64, passed away peacefully on Aug. 20, 2021, with Fritzi, family and friends by her side, at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg, Wis.
Barb was born on Nov. 20, 1956, in Neenah, Wis., the daughter of Howard and Hilda (Schultz) Graverson. After graduating from Neenah High School in 1975 Barb attended UW-Madison, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in medical microbiology in 1980, where she met and married her soul mate, Alan Goldberg, on May 1, 1988. They traveled the world together to countless cities on five continents, fulfilling their deep love for travel and exploring other cultures. They could often be found just relaxing on any given Sunday on their back porch. Barb worked for 30 years in healthcare clinical administration and executive support for University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics and University Health Services.
Barb is survived by three brothers, Russell (Joyce) Graverson, Jamestown, N.C., Gregg (Rosemary) Graverson, Neenah, Wis., and Scott (Genevieve) Graverson, Valrico, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Mark (Susan) Goldberg, Crystal Lake, Ill.; nieces and nephews, Letitia Arbogast, Williamsburg, Va., Jon (Katy) Graverson, Appleton, Wis., Christina (Ryan) Rank, Menasha, Wis., Jeffrey Graverson, Appleton, Wis., Michele Anderson, Biloxi, Miss., Anna Goldberg, Urbana, Ill., and David Goldberg, Burbank, Calif.; grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Jake Arbogast, Abigail Arbogast, Makayla Anderson, Emiliana Anderson, Corbin Anderson, Jocelyn Graverson, Noelle Graverson, Deklan Graverson, Adriel Rank, Adrian Graverson, and Felix Graverson; friends, Rhonda Zander and Andrea Grunenwald; and very special friends who supported her in time of need, Kathy Garity, Julie Jagemann, Anne Wolvin, and Barbara Lafferty.
In addition to her loving husband, Alan, Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Dee Graverson; sister, Ingrid Dee; and in-laws, Saul and Edna Goldberg.
Barb's loved ones would like to thank the faculty and staff of the UW Carbone Cancer Center for their expert care. Special thanks to the entire staff of Agrace HospiceCare for their compassionate support and care of Barb. At her request, in lieu of a funeral, a celebration of life will be held at OLBRICH BOTANICAL GARDENS, 3330 Atwood Ave., Madison, WI 53704, on Sept. 18, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
