CROSS PLAINS – Carol Sue (Robuck) McDonald, age 84, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023. She was born in Marion, Iowa. Throughout her life, she lived in Dallas, Iowa; Knoxville, Iowa; Ames, Iowa; Black Earth, Wis.; and Cross Plains, Wis.
Carol graduated high school in Knoxville, Iowa, and she received a Home Economics Degree from Iowa State University (1961). She married Kent McDonald in Ames, Iowa, at First Presbyterian Church on Nov. 27, 1960. After moving to Wisconsin, she taught tailoring at MATC and sewing for Stretch and Sew company. She raised her family of four children and had a long and successful career at the State Bank of Cross Plains. She loved her time working at the bank and was respected and loved by all who worked with her. In life, she was known for her faith, honesty, loyalty, class, integrity, and eternal optimism. She was an active member of her church and enjoyed supporting her family as well as spending time sewing, quilting, serving others, bible study, exercising, reading, and traveling.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Susan Robuck; brothers, Keith and David Robuck; and father and mother-in-law, George and Janet McDonald. She is survived by her husband, Kent; her four children, Theresa Bohn (husband Dan), Michele Amick (husband Gregg), Steve, and Mike (wife Tami); six grandchildren, Jessica (Bohn) Herriges (husband Alex), Megan (Bohn) Matteson (husband Chris), Tyler McDonald (wife Ana Maria), Caitlin (Amick) Wheeler (husband Micah), Becca Amick, and Jennifer (McDonald) Haffey (husband Bridger); and eight great-grandchildren, Bram, Audra, Sloane, Felicity, and Helena Herriges, Nora and Everett Matteson, and Leanna Wheeler.
A memorial service will be held at LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE LIVING CHRIST, 110 N. Gammon Road, Madison, at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023. A visitation will be held at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Lutheran Church of the Living Christ Preschool would be appreciated.

Theresa and all your families, my sympathy. I always enjoyed your mom. She was sweet and I loved talking quilting with her when I´d see her at events in the area or a quilt store. I know how hard it is losing a mom. It´s not easy. Fly high Carol.
