FITCHBURG - Carolyn Goodman, age 77, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Agrace Hospice. She was born on October 7, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Ethel and Charles Lipstein. She married Jerry Goodman on July 3, 1966, in Syracuse, NY.
Carolyn graduated from Nottingham High School and in 1966, she graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She taught 2nd through 4th grades over 40 years in East Brunswick, NJ, and Verona, WI. She was once named Teacher of the Year in New Jersey and honored in a ceremony at Princeton University. She was an avid reader and attendee at Madison and Fitchburg Libraries.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children: Jason (Elana) and Paul (Susan); grandchildren: Charlie and Sophie; sister, Joan (Dr. William) Ershler; sister-in-law Kay (Robert) Kline. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Private services were held at Beit Olamim Cemetery.
