Vosen, Delories
WAUNAKEE/WESTPORT - Delories Vosen, age 96, of Waunakee/Westport passed away at Homestead Living on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022. She was born on a farm in the Baraboo Bluffs near Devils Lake on Sept. 23, 1925 to William and Emma (DuBois) Bradley. A life that began with kerosene lights, a windmill pump and an outhouse ended with handheld computers and space tourism. Delories married Francis Vosen on June 6, 1953 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2006. Together, they raised a family of three boys and one girl on a 40 acre farm near Waunakee. Her love of gardening, flowers, knitting, sewing and quilting kept her busy year-round, along with volunteering at St. Marys of the Lake Catholic Church and RSVP of Dane County and babysitting for many families over the years including grandkids. When Francis passed away a wonderful group of friends and neighbors helped fill her days. These very special friends include, JoAnne Koster, Kay Beck, Marty Timmins, Joe CaPaul and Mary Woodburn. They took Delories to Dr. appts., grocery shopping, band concerts, parades and fish fries.
Delories is survived by her children, Patrick (Sandy) Vosen, Kevin (Terri Shaw-Graffin) Vosen, Steven (Ann) Vosen, and Sharon (Marc) Olson; her sisters, Rosemary Bradley, Agnes (Paul) Wendland, Shirley (Edmund) Essert; and her brother, Don Bradley; her grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Shiner, Ryan (Sandrea Batiste) Vosen, Erik (Danielle Malone) Vosen, Brett (Brooke Barnhart) Vosen, Maygan (Nate Fischer) Olson, Sydney (Dylan Grover) Olson. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Elizabeth & many in-laws. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Homestead Living and the nurses from Agrace and Hospice that helped her on her journey.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at ST. MARY OF THE LAKE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5460 Mary of the Lake Road in Westport. Monsignor James Gunn will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
